Paco Garcia-Gonzalez
Paco Garcia-Gonzalez

I obtained my PhD at the Complutense University and the National Museum of Natural Sciences (Madrid) in 2002. I then moved to Australia with a two year Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science. Later on I was awarded a three year Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship, and subsequently, a five year Australian Research Fellowship. Afterwards I moved to Spain with a Ramon y Cajal contract, and I am now a tenured researcher at the Spanish Research Council. I am currently at Doñana Biological Station (Spanish Research Council), in Seville.

Susanne Zajitschek
Susanne Zajitschek

Susi was awarded an Andalucia Talent Hub for international mobility of researchers fellowship. Early on her career Susi’s research focus was on pre-copulatory processes and mate choice, but gradually shifted towards post-copulatory processes, and most recently, towards the integration of genetic and epigenetic processes and their role in sexual selection. This poses an ideal backbone for her upcoming investigations on the transgenerational effects of sexual interactions. More on Susi’s career, research interests, and publications here (https://susannezajitschek.wordpress.com/)

Eduardo Rodriguez
Eduardo Rodriguez

Eduardo was awarded a PhD contract by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Eduardo's research will make use of experimental evolution approaches and quantitative genetic breeding designs to address questions in relation to the mechanisms underlying the evolutionary maintenance of female multiple mating. His research will also inquire into the genetic basis underlying sexual conflict adaptations.

Miguel joined the group in April 2017 as a research assistant. Technical assistance was dearly needed as we have been snowed under a mountain of small containers with little creatures inside for a long time. So, we are thrilled that Miguel is around helping out.

Laura Travers
Laura Travers

Laura was a PhD student based at the Centre for Evolutionary Biology, UWA, Western Australia (co-supervised by Leigh Simmons and Paco Garcia-Gonzalez). Laura's PhD used a quantitative genetics approach with Drosophila melanogaster to investigate the evolvability of female multiple mating and of traits important in post-copulatory sexual selection. Her excellent work can be checked out in four nice papers (see publications page). Good on ya' Laura!

Jesus Martinez-Padilla
Jesus Martinez-Padilla

Jesus was around as a postdoc from November 2014 to September 2015. Currently he is at the Unidad Mixta de Investigacion en Biodiversidad (CSIC-UO-PA, Universidad de Oviedo, Campus de Mieres). He is broadly interested in the evolutionary ecology of sexual behaviour and has ample experience integrating behavioural, physiological, and genetic tools to unravel the mechanisms that explain variation in sexual behaviour. You can find more details about Jesus' past research in Researchgate, Google Schoolar and in his personal website.

Dr. Michelle Taylor
Dr. Michelle Taylor

Michelle held a Posdoctoral Research Associate position at the Center for Evolutionary Biology (UWA) during 2009 and 2010. She was supervised by Jon Evans and Paco Garcia-Gonzalez, and her work focused on the genetic architecture of attractiveness and the study of the role of genotipe-by-environment interactions in sexual selection.

Ana Lopez Malvar
Ana Lopez Malvar

Ana successfully completed her Universidad Pablo de Olavide masters' research project (co-supervised by Ivan Gomez-Mestre) on parental effects in dung beetles.

Erasmus students Stephen McHugh, Ryan Banks and Chris Coxhill (trainneships at Donana Biological Station). Honours students Paul Yew, Jahmila Parthenay and Xue Ni Koh (thesis research undertaken at the Centre for Evolutionary Biology and the Centre for Integrative Bee Research, UWA). Research assistants Shresta Lobind, Gemma Fitzpatrick, Suriya Vij, Stephen Robinson, John Trainer (while at the Centre for Evolutionary Biology, UWA), and Sara Tripodi (Estacion Biologica de Doñana).
